The first half of this chapter was very funny and I can tell that you do your research very carefully. The second half was so hot, and they weren't even naked. If they ever do get naked it's going to be too hot to read (but I'll risk it).
Author's Response: Thanks! Researching for Tea was half the fun, and I learned a lot of stuff I never even dreamed of previous to writing the fic. The tango was especially fun to read about and write - quite a challenge when I personally have two left feet and can't dance worth a damn.
This chapter was probably one of the hardest to write because of what you mention in the second half of your review. Trying for something steamy when the protagonists are fully clothed and don't even kiss is difficult, but I'm thrilled to know it worked for you. Once you finish reading Tea, I strongly encourage you to try out A Dark Herbal by The Stars Hold Nine Serpents right here on DQ. She has sexual tension down to an art, and her writing is beyond compare. |

I wandered onto ff.net in June of 2003, looking for a HP fix until OotP arrived at my door. I really didn't have any expectations of fanfic and waded cheerfully through many works without a thimble of your craftmanship before I stumbled upon this one. I was completely arrested, glued to my computer every night until I caught up. I love this story terribly; it was my first introdcution to how wonderful, vivid, and well-written fanfic can be and it occupies a very special place in my heart. This chapter in particular I think I have read a hundred times. Reading it again still brings a grin to my face and a shiver to my spine. I know you've long finished this work but I can't remember if I reviewed it anywhere else... if I didn't, please know this review equals 38 chapters worth of warmest applause. Thanks for a wonderful story.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for such a lovely review! I'm relieved and thrilled that TwtBD has withstood the test of time, and that folks are still enjoying it. It was fun to write and remains close to my heart as the tribute to a friend. Thanks again! |
